After signing in, scroll down to the bottom right-hand side to Create Content. Choose "Event" and fill out the date, time, and details of your event. Select your audience (generally, your group) and submit. If you choose 'public" (default) the event will be seen by everybody. Your event will then appear in the Upcoming Events calendar.
